Cold Weather Shooting Tips - TWIP

http://twipphoto.com/archives/1931

Scott Bourne with some timely advice.  I think I was lucky on my last ski / snowboard trip when I brought my D70 to the slopes.  I didn't even think about condensation before walking inside the condo.  Maybe the temperature difference wasn't large enough, or perhaps the camera (like me) gradually got warmer on the car ride back to the condo.  Either way, this is something to take very seriously.

TWIP Linking Contest

This Week In Photography (TWIP), more specifically Scott Bourne and his trusty algorithm, is picking another winner tonight to win a bunch of cool prizes. Scott will choose a winner randomly from his logs of sites that link to twipphoto.com. Wish me luck. Or better yet, hit the TWIP link on the side-bar or in this post.

A New Start

Every so often, I like to change things up. Sometimes for fun, sometimes out of annoyance. This time it was a little of both.

My previous blog at yokimbo.com was created using Wordpress. While WP is very powerful and flexible, it's a little too high maintenance for my taste. Jenny and I have been using Blogger for blogging about Alli and family life, and I've really grown to enjoy Blogger again. So, I decided to switch back.

The reason I switched from Blogger to Wordpress in the first place had something to do with the hack job that was post-via-email. I'm hoping this has improved, but either way it's easier than using WP. While WP handled post via email like a champ, having to manually update the WP software, the database, and potentially plugins, just began to wear on me.

Having a 5-month old baby limits your free time considerably. That's not a complaint, simply the truth. I love interacting with my daughter, and that takes a little sacrifice. One of the first things to go is Wordpress.

The blog is dead; God save the blog.
